What personal data we collect

We may collect and process the following when you enquire about a job or use our services:

  • Your name and contact details (phone number, email address, postal or job address)
  • Details about the plumbing work (what has failed, access notes, and photographs you send)
  • Records of our communications with you
  • Invoicing and payment information where relevant

If you use the website contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit (and any phone number or other details you include in that message).

Lawful basis for processing

We process personal data under UK GDPR on the following bases:

  • Contract — to provide a quotation, book a visit, or carry out plumbing work you have asked for
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, keep job records, and improve our service
  • Legal obligation — where we must keep records for tax, insurance, or health and safety

How we use your data

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, attend jobs, issue invoices, and meet our legal duties. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your enquiry details for third-party marketing.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry records are typically kept for up to two years if no work proceeds. Job and invoice records are usually kept for up to seven years after completion.

Who we share your data with

Your personal data is handled by MK Plumbing Birmingham. Enquiry emails are delivered to our business mailbox using Google Workspace / Gmail (on our Google account). This website is hosted on Cloudflare (on our Cloudflare account), which delivers the site pages and runs the contact form endpoint. Those providers process data only as needed to provide those services to us.

We may also share data with professional advisers, insurers, or regulators where we have a legitimate need or a legal duty to do so.

The company that designed or maintains this website does not receive your contact-form submissions or your customer records, and is not given access to your personal data for those purposes.

If this site displays Google reviews, those reviews are public content from Google and are not taken from our contact form.

Cookies and website technology

This website is largely static. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The contact form uses simple spam checks in the form itself (for example a honeypot field and a short timing check). You can control cookies in your browser if any are set by your device or network.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, corrections, or erasure in the circumstances set out in UK law. Contact us using the details above. You may also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do.
